Whether you need to persuade a committee chair, a board member or a potential client, delivering the right message in the right way is essential.
We approach communications challenges by rethinking them from the ground up. We begin by developing a detailed understanding of your organization, your agenda and the audiences you need to reach. (Often, they’re not who you think they are.) We combine outside-the-box thinking with “inside the Beltway” experience to design the most effective, forward-thinking strategy. We then create and execute an innovative set of tactics to reach your goals.
Our communications professionals draw from years of experience in law, policy, politics and public service. The Raben Group clients take advantage of a tailored suite of services including message development, media relations, op-ed drafting and placement, branding, initiative rollouts, litigation support and crisis communications.
Our communications team has:
- Created the strategy for the Aspen Institute’s Initiative on Financial Security to roll out its proposals for a new American savings policy
- Created advocacy and messaging campaigns for multiple clients around high-profile Supreme Court cases, including Gonzales v. Oregon, Carhart v. Gonzales, G.I. Forum v. Perry and MGM v. Grokster
- Developed a comprehensive branding and communications strategy for Appleseed, a national network of non-profit law centers, and helped launch multiple major policy initiatives to national and local media, including a groundbreaking report on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina
- Advised the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) on messaging and coordinated all communications relating to litigation and public policy issues
- Created and implemented a communications and outreach strategy for the National Prison Rape Elimination Commission
- Developed content for the Open Society Institute’s “WatchingJustice” website focusing on constitutional and justice-based issues
- Helped the Genocide Intervention Network introduce the first-ever scorecard to grade members of Congress on their actions on the humanitarian crisis in Darfur
