LARRY GONZALEZ is a Principal with The Raben Group. Mr. Gonzalez' experience spans nearly two decades with a focus on political strategy and public policy in county, state and federal government. Having worked for local elected officials and as the lead advocate in Washington, D.C. on behalf of a national nonprofit membership group of elected officials; he brings a wealth of knowledge about the internal workings of government. A leader in numerous legislative battles, Larry has a deep understanding of the importance of coalition building, working with key elected officials and their staffs and the nuances of the policy making process.

Prior to joining The Raben Group, Mr. Gonzalez was the Washington, D.C. Director for the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), a nationally recognized association of 6,000 Latino policymakers. As NALEO's chief advocate and lobbyist, he developed primary legislative and messaging strategies and fostered key bipartisan relationships in the Executive, Legislative and Federal branches of our government. He has written and delivered testimony before committees in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate and remains a regular media source on issues impacting the Latino community at the national level. He has been a spokesperson on shows such as C-SPAN's Washington Journal, CNN "Inside Politics," the Fox News Channel and Spanish language news outlets, Univision and Telemundo.

Before coming to Washington D.C., Mr. Gonzalez served as a Legislative Aide in the Illinois State Senate where he worked on issues such as naturalization, health care, education and economic development. He worked with community based organizations throughout the Chicago metropolitan area in organizing voter registration drives, town hall meetings and health care forums.

Mr. Gonzalez has worked for Illinois county government as an Aide and Director of Communications at the Cook County Board of Commissioners and Cook County Clerk's office. He has extensive political campaign experience having run successful State Senate, State Representative and County Board campaigns.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, he holds a Bachelor's Degree in English and Journalism from Western Illinois University.
