JENNIFER MUELLER is a Counsel at The Raben Group. She unites years of experience as an attorney, educator, and writer to help clients develop sound public policy and reach diverse audiences.

Ms. Mueller came to Washington, DC as an attorney at the law firm Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering (now WilmerHale), where she was a litigation associate for many years. While at Wilmer, she helped bring a number of high-profile matters to successful resolution, including defending the constitutionality of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act in McConnell v. FEC, and asserting the civil rights of African-American plaintiffs against a local Texas "drug task force" in Kelly v. Paschall. Ms. Mueller researched and drafted briefs on topics as diverse as contract law, securities law, international arbitration, white collar crime, and antitrust. She also worked closely with experts and witnesses, readied cases for trial, and investigated instances of reported wrongdoing.

After leaving her law firm, Ms. Mueller worked as a freelance policy writer "translating" important policy issues for a wide range of audiences. Her work included op-eds, web pages, and white papers on topics such as health care reform, gun control, and immigration. In the fall of 2008, she also helped organize the Obama campaign's voter protection effort in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

Prior to joining Wilmer, Ms. Mueller clerked for Judge Warren J. Ferguson on the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and interned at the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights. In 1998 she was a Harvard Human Rights Fellow at the South African National Youth Commission, where she worked with a team researching and drafting a green paper on a South African National Youth Service Program.

Ms. Mueller is a graduate of Harvard Law School. During her time at Harvard, she earned her certification as a Massachusetts court-appointed mediator and was president of the Harvard Mediation Program. She also served as an executive editor on the Harvard Women's Law Journal.

Before attending law school, Ms. Mueller taught English for three years in Prague at the Czech State Language School, the oldest and largest language school in the Czech Republic. She has lived, worked, and traveled in more than 40 countries.

Ms. Mueller graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with highest honors. She is a member of the California and Washington, DC bars.
