HOPE B. MIZELLE is the administrative assistant and receptionist for The Raben Group, where she brings decades of professional administrative experience to work for the firm and its clients.
Hope retired in 2006 from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) after more than 30 years of service. Her career began in the Metro Transit Police Training Division, where she contributed her talents to a tri-state training operation culminating in the sworn officer status for participants.
Hope was also responsible for administration and technical preparation work for special reports presented to senior management, WMATA’s Board of Directors and the Federal Transit Administration’s Project Management Oversight Consultants. She coordinated activities related to the monthly meeting of the Board’s Development and Expansion Committee, which ultimately led to the completion of the Red, Orange, Blue and Yellow Lines in the Washington, D.C. Metrorail system.
Her numerous achievements were recognized through three General Manager’s Awards for Excellence/Distinguished Performance (1985, 1991 and 2001). The last award was granted her as “Employee of the Year” for the department she represented.
Prior to joining WMATA, she was employed by the Department of Labor, Office of Work Incentive Programs (WIN), where she was instrumental in the completion of the WIN-II Handbook and Federal Regulations and responsible for the WIN Third Annual Report. She was detailed to a Veterans’ Task Force that sought employment for Vietnam-era veterans. In both programs, she received special achievement awards.
Hope was born in Ahoskie, North Carolina and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is very family oriented: she is married and has three grown daughters and three grandchildren.
