Based in our Los Angeles office, Laura Rodriguez’s clients include the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), The Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino, and Bienestar.
Laura Rodriguez is a principal at The Raben Group and heads the firm’s West Coast office in Los Angeles. Merging several years of experience in leadership positions on Capitol Hill with deep roots in the Hispanic community, Laura offers her clients not only practical knowledge about the processes of the federal government, but a deep understanding of the importance of creativity, strategic communications and coalition building in accomplishing policy objectives.
Prior to joining The Raben Group, Laura was chief of staff to former Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis (D-CA). She managed all aspects of the Congresswoman’s Washington, DC and California offices and designed and executed her legislative portfolio, including message development, strategy and press events.
Laura helps the firm’s non-profit and corporate clients develop strategic partnerships at the national, state and local level within the Latino community. She co-founded The Raben Group’s LATINStrategies division to assist those who need to effectively engage fast-growing Hispanic communities.
Laura began her career in Washington, DC in 1995 as a legislative assistant to Congressman Ronald Coleman (D-TX), a senior member of the Appropriations Committee. Laura also served as deputy chief of staff and legislative director to Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) for five years.
Laura graduated from George Washington University and is a co-founder of the Hispanic Lobbyists Association. She also serves on the board of directors of the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice, a non-profit providing free legal assistance to low-income residents in East Los Angeles.
