With a background in law and experience with domestic advocacy, Alexandria Walden helps our clients advance their public policy goals.
Prior to joining The Raben Group, Alex worked at the Center for American Progress wearing the dual caps of a Law Students for Reproductive Justice fellow and a Georgetown Women’s Law & Public Policy program fellow. While at CAP, she authored columns and drafted reports analyzing the impact of federal policy proposals on women’s access to comprehensive reproductive health care. She also coordinated the Women’s Health Leadership Network at CAP, a group of emerging leaders in the reproductive justice movement.
During law school, Alex was a law clerk for the U.S. House of Representatives in the Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights & Liberties. She also served as a law clerk for the U.S. Senate, Committee on the Judiciary, where she worked on judicial nominations and other oversight related to civil rights issues. Alex also worked with the U.S. EEOC, U.S. Department of Labor, and Bay Area Legal Aid during law school.
Before attending law school, Alex spent almost four years working in the D.C. Office of Legal Momentum (formerly NOW Legal Defense & Education Fund) on a variety of women’s and civil rights issues, including workplace violence, welfare, reproductive justice, marriage equality, and judicial nominations.
Alex holds a B.A. in political science from American University and a J.D. from University of San Francisco School of Law. She is a California native.
