We’d be delighted if you’d join us for The Raben Group’s policy breakfast with Ashley Carson Cottingham, staff director for the Senate HELP Subcommitteee on Primary Health and Aging, chaired by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
Prior to joining the Senate HELP Subcommittee, Ms. Cottingham was senior policy counsel for the United States Senate Special Committee on Aging, chaired by Senator Herb Kohl (D-WI). Her work at the Senate has consisted of social security and retirement security, health disparities, the Older Americans Act programs, elder abuse prevention and advance care planning. Prior to joining the Special Committee, she was the executive director of OWL - The Voice of Midlife and Older Women, founded as the Older Women's League, an organization representing the issues that impact women 40 and older in America. As the leader of OWL, Ms. Cottingham traveled the country to meet with OWL members and their chapters, speaking on women and aging policy issues.
Ms. Cottingham also worked as part of the Vermont Long-Term Care Ombudsman Project where she visited long-term care facilities, met with residents, and advocated for reform to guardianship laws.
