National Immigration Forum
Established in 1982, the National Immigration Forum is the leading immigrant advocacy organization in the country, with a mission to advocate for the value of immigrants and immigration.
The Raben Group has been working with the National Immigration Forum since 2007 to help develop a strategy to enact national comprehensive immigration reform legislation. Today we serve as part of the core senior team for the Forum and its Bibles, Badges, and Business campaign, assisting with strategy and policy, and bringing unusual allies into the immigration debate. Patty First, a principal at The Raben Group with an extensive immigration background, serves as one of the Forum’s top strategic advisors, helping them navigate federal policy and advising them on how to respond to challenges as they arise.
With The Raben Group’s assistance the Forum has consistently engaged federal policymakers, coordinated the drafting of legislation, and reached out to stakeholders across the country. At the beginning of our work with the Forum, our team organized and led an all-day planning session to facilitate the Forum in clarifying strategy and designing tactics for effective policy. After this, we maintained momentum for the national movement during times of transition within the organization. We have helped them to create a bipartisan immigration debate, engaging diverse faith, business, and law enforcement constituents that had not previously had a role in immigration reform. Today, we manage and lead the strategy for the multi-million dollar campaign and assist the Forum in coordinating its work in key states.
We have also assisted the Forum with creating and executing events. In March 2010, we helped coordinate an event where Reform Immigration FOR America brought more than 250,000 people to the National Mall to march in favor of comprehensive immigration reform. In 2014, we helped the Forum bring in 650 pastors, law enforcement officers, and business leaders to advocate for immigration reform in Congress as the Bibles, Badges, and Business coalition.
